you'll never walk alone

THIS IS ANFIELD

When you walk

through a storm,

hold your head up high.

And don't be afraid of the dark.

At the end, of the storm

is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of a lark.

Walk on, through the wind.

Walk on, through the rain.

Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.

Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart.

And you'll never walk alone.

You'll never walk alone.

Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart.

And you'll never walk alone.

You'll Never Walk Alone.

the canterbury tales

School's been pretty tough going after the holidays, with an exam right after Easter break and then lectures going into full blast straight after. There are a few things on my mind, one of them being that I am pretty tired from studying non-stop since coming to London. I may have gone on holidays to Italy and Spain, but I was never "away" from work since I had to study for an exam after those breaks, and I quite feel the strain on my mental sinews now, so much so that I have a slight aversion to work. Well, I just need to strive on for a few more weeks and then finals will be here and then it will all be over, and all that's left will be to wait for my parents to come, go to Rome, Venice and Paris and then I will be home! I know I am really having the time of my life and I am really blessed and lucky to be studying overseas.

Meanwhile, another thing occupying my mind is Liverpool being in the Champions League Finals in Athens against Milan! As you all know, I am an ardent Liverpool fan and 23rd May 2007 cannnot come soon enough. Was pretty excited over the recent semi-finals against Chelsea, I practically shouted myself hoarse! And if Liverpool do win the Champions League, my friend and I are planning to go up to Liverpool for a day for the celebratory parade! Hopefully I'll be able to and update you guys on it!

I have been reading up on lots of travelling (it is my current relaxation activity) and I am exceptionally keen on going to a few places that I shall now mention. For my next trip, hopefully during Christmas break, I hope to be headed to Greece (Athens, Rhodes, Crete and Santorini). And then there's Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg) hopefully in Easter and Israel (Jerusalem, Bethleham and Nazareth) perhaps in Summer. Also in the plans are New York and Germany, but those will be further down the line. Hopefully I will have the time in the years to come (I get less and less time for holidays each year till I am having a 55 week school term in my final few years) But for now, I hope that I will be able to accomplish all that in time to come.

I decided to take a weekend break from work to Canterbury with Mike, Fon and her friend, Sijie. The original bus tickets there were ridiculously cheap, a return trip costing two pounds. But that only applied for me as the rest costed more, and in the end, we each paid about six pounds per person. Canterbury is renown for the Canterbury Tales, which I have yet to lay my hands on and probably will not do so anytime soon. But anyway, I believe a few Archbishops of Canterbury were murdered in the Canterbury Cathedral.
Meanwhile, the Canterbury Cathedral is the Head Church of England (which is the equivalent of St John Lateran to the Roman Catholics). Currently requiring lots of money for reconstruction and renovation and thus charging quite an exhorbitant entry price, which we were spared from because we went for the Evensong Service.

The River Stour and the Ducking Chair
(apparently witches were put on the chair and tossed into the river - if they died, they weren't witches, but if they survived, they were declared as witches and then killed)

There were not many stuff to see in Canterbury, especially with the shops closing early on a Sunday. But I have made a new friend and it is definitely a much more interesting place historically and culturally as compared to Birmingham. Next stops in UK are Bath and the Stonehenge, and Glasgow and Edinburgh!

Alright, it is back to work now and I shall be going full steam ahead till the exams are over!
